Firebirds Chosen as Guest Speakers to Pop Warner Scholars

The Firebirds were honored to be chosen to speak to a group of over 400 cheerleaders and football players, grades 5 through 9, who demonstrate excellent performance on and off the field. The director of the program explained to Firebirds owner Tawana Grayson that more and more girls are playing football each year, and that the Firebirds seemed like a perfect fit for a guest speaker this year. Firebirds owner Tawana Grayson, as well as players Jenne’ Massie, Ursula Spencer, and Laura O’Malley spoke about the history of the team and the league, how they came to be involved with the team, and how it is difficult but possible to be successful on and off the field while in school based on personal experiences.
The entire Firebirds organization would like to extend sincere congratulations again to the scholars, especially the young ladies following in the footsteps of our female football players, and would like to encourage all of the Pop Warner Scholars to continue to work hard in the class room and on the field.
The Mission of the Philadelphia Firebirds is to create an atmosphere that empowers women and young girls to follow their dream on and off the field.
We invite you to support our mission and look forward to a productive partnership with you.
